01 / The wine
Nick's Wine Co. is a small-scale project built around experimentation, learning and the pleasure of making something worth sharing. Each release begins with the fruit and follows the most interesting path from there.
02 / The maker
Nick Gardner came to wine after two decades in some of Australia's and Europe's most celebrated kitchens, including Quay, Tetsuya's, The French Laundry and Bouchon.
Named the Good Food Guide Josephine Pignolet Young Chef of the Year in 2013, Nick later co-ran Hampden Deli, Dining & School and Hampden Wine Lounge in Kangaroo Valley. His book A Day in the Deli brought recipes and wine pairings together around the rhythm of a working day.
Today he is assistant winemaker at Campbells Wines in Rutherglen, learning under Jules Campbell and Ian Diver while developing his own tiny, experimental releases through Nick's Wine Co.
